I read something recently about how every good idea and every admirable trait can be taken too far. The first item on the list stuck with me — Confidence without Arrogance — and I’ve been thinking about that as I was struggling with procrastination in pricing a proposal.
True confidence is knowing your worth without needing validation from others.
It’s an inner certainty that you can handle anything that comes your way. Believing in yourself and your abilities. It’s about having faith that you can achieve your goals and make your dreams a reality.
True confidence is being secure in who you are — perfectly imperfect.
When you’re confident, you don’t compare or compete because you know everyone has their own unique gifts and talents.
Arrogance, on the other hand, is all about trying to prove yourself to others. It’s an insecure need for validation and approval. Arrogance is thinking you’re better than others; confidence is knowing you’re just as good as them.
True confidence comes from within, while arrogance is externally focused.
So be confident — without being arrogant.
