Music, inspiration, and album covers

Sometime back in 1988, I played and sang “The Weight” in a bar in Ypsilanti, MI with my friend Bob. Thankfully, there is no video.

For the 50th anniversary of the song, Playing for Change (PFC) produced this “Around the World” version that gives me goosebumps and brings me to the verge of tears when I watch it.

I recently watched the “Behind the Song” Part 1 and Part 2 and now I love it even more.

Music has a transcendent way of bringing people together. It “reaffirms that thing we all believe that no matter how many things in life divide us, it’s never going to be as strong as the power of music to bring us together.” ~ Mark Johnson, PFC producer

Music is a constant source of inspiration to me and I’ve been very fortunate to be able to design many album covers over the years,. The latest one for Michelle Malone’s “1977” was just released! Check it out here.  Featuring an original “Michellefie” on the cover.
