Why You Need a Mobile Marketing Strategy
To effectively reach your target audience, it’s critical to know what devices they’re using and when.
Nearly 40% of people search only on a smartphone in an average day as they look to meet immediate needs. As a result of this shift, more Google searches are happening on smartphones than computers.
People expect answers at their fingertips. They turn to the nearest device to make a decision, learn something new, or get something accomplished.
To help you build a better strategy for mobile, Google has produced a new free report on How People Use Their Devices: What Marketers Need to Know.
Some interesting things jumped out at me:
- More than 1 in 4 users only use a smartphone in an average day—almost 2X as many as those who only use a computer. As a marketer, if you aren’t reaching your customers on mobile, you risk missing out on 1/4 of your potential audience.
- In an average day, 39% search on a smartphone only (vs. 32% computer only and 28% more than one type of device)
Check out the full report, it’s a quick read and full of interesting insights.
