Rule of Three

Three is the most persuasive number in communications. 🤔

You see, three is the smallest number required to make a pattern.

Our minds enjoy thinking in patterns and we naturally look for and create them in everything we do.

You can optimize or improve your communications by using the power of three in your design, process, and marketing.  

The pattern works because it is short, memorable, and powerful. And it is everywhere:

  • Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
  • ABCs. Three Blind Mice. Huey, Louie, and Dewey.
  • Just do it. Snap crackle pop.

How you can apply the power of three to market your business?

  1. Offer products in three varieties
  2. Focus on three unique benefits
  3. Focus on three key points in presentations


The brain likes to have choices, but not too many choices. If we have too many choices, we often get confused or stressed — 
Not too hot, not too cold… not too big, not too small… just right.

Remember, three charms but four alarms.
