Julia Cameron, author of The Artist’s Way says:
“It is impossible to get better and look good at the same time. Give yourself permission to be a beginner. By being willing to be a bad artist, you have a chance to be an artist, and perhaps, over time, a very good one.”
We can’t be a beginner and an expert at the same time.
We don’t need to be perfect. When you’re a beginner at something, it’s an opportunity to take risks and learn from them.
Give yourself permission to suck for a while so you can eventually become great.
Don’t let your fear of failure prevent you from trying and becoming better.
TRY RISK. YOU MUST THINK YOU CAN.
PS Incidentally, The Artist’s Way was the inspiration for the title of my framework The Smartist Way.
