Taking a step back from the daily grind, the deadlines, the competing priorities and expectations and simply losing myself in the process of painting the walls (and picking dog hair out of wet paint 🐶 💕 — apparently sweeping, vacuuming and wiping down baseboards wasn’t enough!) in silence was just what I needed.
Not only did I clear some literal cobwebs from the nooks and crannies of the studio, but I also cleared my mind. I worked in silence and allowed myself to do the physical work of painting while simply being in the moment with it. I wasn’t planning anything. I wasn’t solving anything. I wasn’t listening to anything. I wasn’t figuring anything out…
And that’s when it hit me. Painting something really big requires that you step back to see the whole. As the year is coming to a close, it’s a great time to step back and evaluate our journeys. and as I stepped back, I realized I have ideaphoria…
